PDA Europe Training Course in Mainz

PDA Europe Training Course in Mainz

On September 12 and 13, 2018, the training on “Best Practices for Glass Primary Containers” of the Parenteral Drug Association (PDA) in Mainz will enter its second round. After the success of the first course in October last year, participants can again look forward to interesting, practice-oriented lectures and an experienced team of trainers this year.

In the packaging industry for pharmaceuticals, glass is the raw material of choice today. The two-day course offers insights into the science of glass as well as its chemical and physical properties and processing. The filling and closing process of different containers such as vials, ampoules, cartridges or syringes in the pharmaceutical industry will be explained step by step and the participants will have the opportunity to visit the Schott AG factory to take a look behind the scenes of glass processing.

In addition to the experienced experts Claudia Heinl and Florian Maurer (both SCHOTT AG) and Karl Siemoneit (Sanofi-Aventis Deutschland GmbH), Klaus Ullherr (Robert Bosch Packaging Technology GmbH) will also provide interesting practical insights. His lecture series focuses on the use of glass containers in primary packaging. One of the focal points will be the stress on the material as it passes through filling and closing machines. Thanks to many years of experience, Klaus Ullherr can give valuable tips on how to avoid glass breakage throughout the entire process chain.
